Privacy Policy

1. Purpose and scope

We are committed to safeguarding the personal information of our website visitors and customers. This policy applies to all personal information collected, used or disclosed by W.C. Flooring Installations through our website and in the course of providing flooring installation and repair services.

2. What personal information we collect

We may collect the following types of personal information:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• The address of the property where the work is to be carried out
• Photographs of your floors or stairs that you send us so we can see the job
• IP address and device information
• Any other information you provide through our forms, by email, by text or by phone

Because our work is carried out at your property, the address you give us is collected for the purpose of measuring and completing the work.

We do not collect business contact information, such as a business phone number or a business address, as personal information under PIPA.

3. How we collect personal information

We collect personal information:

• Directly from you when you ask for an estimate through our website, or contact us by phone, email or text
• Directly from you when you send photographs of your floors or stairs
• Automatically when you use our website: our web host records standard information such as your IP address and browser, and our pages load fonts from Google, which receives your IP address. When you send an estimate form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks your browser and IP address to make sure a person, not a bot, is sending it. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It sets cookies in your browser and tells Google which pages you viewed, the device you used and your general area (not your address). We don’t use advertising cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings, or turn off Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
• From third parties, with your consent, or as authorized by law

4. Why we collect personal information

We collect, use and disclose your personal information for purposes including:

• Preparing an estimate and answering your questions
• Arranging a time to measure
• Carrying out the work and following up afterwards
• Keeping records of work completed at a property
• Sending you information about our services, where you have consented to receive it
• Meeting our legal and regulatory obligations

We will only collect, use or disclose personal information for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances.

5. Photographs of your home

Customers often text us a photograph of a ripple, a seam, a burn or pet damage, or of the room or stairs to be done, so we can see the job before we come out. We also take photographs of our work as it goes in and when it is finished.

We use these photographs to plan the work and to keep a record of what was done. We may show photographs of our work on this website and on our Google Business Profile, with the town only. We never show your name, your address or anything that identifies your home, and if you ask us to take a photograph down, we will.

6. Consent

We obtain your consent before collecting, using or disclosing your personal information, except where otherwise permitted or required by law. Consent may be given orally, in writing, electronically, or through your continued use of our website.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. If you withdraw consent, we may be unable to provide certain services.

7. Retention and accuracy

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information accurate and complete, and we encourage you to tell us about any changes.

8. Security of personal information

We use appropriate safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification or disposal. These safeguards may be physical, organizational and technological, and include secure servers and access controls.

9. Disclosure to third parties

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share your personal information with:

• Service providers who help us operate our website or deliver our services, subject to confidentiality obligations
• Law enforcement or regulatory agencies, where required by law
• Other third parties with your consent, or as permitted by law

Estimate requests sent through the website reach us by email through our email service, Brevo, which stores information in the European Union. Our web host and Google, which serves the website’s fonts and runs Google Analytics, may store information in the United States.

Where personal information is transferred outside Canada, we will take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected.

10. Access and correction

You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if you believe it is inaccurate or incomplete. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review it from time to time.

12. How to contact us
